Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard |
1. Vivien Runnels opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. Ms. Runnels announced Don Collar, Chair of the Board of Directors is absent and sends his warmest regards. Ms. Runnels introduced the guest speaker Ms. Moe Garahan as a former program co-ordinator of the GEFC and presently with the Ottawa Food Security Council.
2. Ms. Garahan shared her experiences and encounters with various food programs for the last 10 years. She focussed on organic farming.
3. Ann Frederking, Executive Director, recognized the many hours of work performed by a team of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers having been with the food cupboard for 1 year are presented with a GEFC pin as a token of appreciation for their dedication. Volunteers with 5 years service are presented with a mug.
4. A motion to adopt the previous minutes was put forth by Jim Bogues and seconded by Bill Bentley. The motion was accepted by all.
5. Reports
Ann Frederking presented the annual report covering all activities of the GEFC.
Jim Bogues presented the Treasurer's Report.
Vivien Runnels presented a motion to accept both reports. The motion was carried by all in attendance.
6. Jim Bogues explained that a full audit will be required for the 2005 fiscal year. Ann Frederking put forth a motion to have Richard Vroom, C.A. carry out the audit. The motion was seconded by Bill Bentley and carried by all.
7. Jim Bogues indicated that this would be Norm Watson's last year to review the GEFC accounting practices. A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Watson in recognition of the many years he has dedicated to the GEFC.
8. The following wished their names to stand for directors for 2005-2006.
9.Vivien Runnells closed the meeting by thanking everyone for attending and the meeting was adjourned.
